Ummm... I hate to say this Jono but you've used some fruity codec to compress the video and it won't play on my computer. However it does send me to a website and asks for $14.95 for the right codec. Because of the weird codec it can't get encoded into a Flash file and the judges won't be able to view it. Can you please re-encode it with a standard codec? |

can't see it either sorry |

Chur - downloading now.
I'm going to try to re-encode it and re-upload it at my end. If that doesn't work I'll pull it from the competition. |

I've re-encoded the video so it can be viewed by everyone - but the movie file Jono originally uploaded was pretty bad - hence the parcpy compression.
Jono - if I was you I'd re-do the compression using a bog-standard format (like WMV) as I guarantee it will come out better than that parcpy Indeo thingie (which appears to be 8 years old.) |

sorry tama - It took me about 2 hours to find a compression that would bring it under 16mb! ill have another fight tonight after work and try get it with a decent codec. Thanks for your efforts |

That's really weird - for the length of time of the vid it should go under 16meg easy. With Windows Movie Maker (which comes free with Windows) you can choose the max filesize. It'd do sub 16meg for your video no worries.
All videos on Vorb end up at 512bps so don't invest too much effort in going for high res / high bitrate uploads |

Hey Jono - I feel your pain when it comes to compression! Try downloading Windows Media Encoder (WME) (for free). Render your video using Ulead with the best quality that you can, then load that in WME - and you can control your bitrate and frame size independantly - that way the Vorb encoder shouldn't need to squish it for you. (ie you can compress to 320x240@512kbps which is what the Vorb compressor will be set to as well. Good luck! |
