Has anyone out there taken the disgusting charge that Tranz Metro impose on cyclists using the train for transporting bikes any further than arguing with the ticket people?
I am more than annoyed that I can take my bike on the plane anywhere in NZ for FREE, that's right no charges yet it costs me $4 each trip on the train.
What's clean and green about encouraging people to use their cars?
I'm told the GWC sets these fares so would appreciate it if anyone can let me know the names of anyone who is involved so I can get in touch to "discuss" it
Cheers,

This is just not a problem where you are, as well as in Auckland, to take the bike on the train it costs $1
From the www.maxx.co.nz website --> On trains, a bicycle ticket must be purchased for each trip, at a cost of $1. Carrying of bicycles on board trains is dependent on space and at the discretion of onboard staff. Avoid travelling with bicycles at peak times, as space will be limited. Please contact Veolia Tranport Auckland on 09 969 7777 for more information.

Yeah $4 a trip is a have. If you buy a monthly or quarterly pass its only $5 on top of the pass price. But then they will only take your bike if there is room

this ssipes me off too, when I am knackered I catch the train with my bike.
Paying twice to have the luxury of my bike getting thrown in a empty luggage section of the train is a joke.

Embarrassing them in the press might change that policy...
