Sounds like you guys might be starting to get somewhere. Hopefully this will encourage other councils to sit up and take note, Hamilton has a few places that it could put it a few small trails.

Good effort with the CRASH!
A light raking of all the bigger debris and a little shaping would make it sweet!

P.S. dont rake too much of the organic layer off - it's good weather proofing!

Easter was an appropriate time to enlighten the public via direct political protest action of our persecution by locals and authorities over our Western Springs trails by closing the walkway.

This political protest reasserts our grievance over Council, Parks and the Western Bays Community Board shutting down our trails using deceitful signage that purposefully maligns our cause. Furthermore, these oppressive signs have rallied a few misinformed locals to incessantly set booby traps and sabotage our existing trails. This is an over-the-top reaction against kids who have no suitable place to ride their mountain bikes in Auckland City.

You may never know what results come of your action, but if you do nothing there will be no result” Mahatma Gandhi

went for a ride on the trail behind western springs today, had to walk to near the top from half way down due to it being blocked off with fallen trees/logs. sadly it's a bit over grown, and it was getting dark for a good run, but it looks fun! will go back again in the near future!
Good luck with your progress!
Cheers for your efforts!!!
