Ok, I know it's still 2007... but my blog site is down so after telling some people only yesterday that I was going to wait until the Vulcaniser to start this up again this year, here I am!
I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and got out on the bikes. I did intervals in the pouring rain (I've had better, but at least I was riding ).
My summer of racing starts in about 40 minutes when I'll be pulling out of the driveway and heading in to the ferry to meet up with Gen and Gabi and begin the roadie girly road trip to Nelson. Samara will join us for the drive to Nelson so we'll have a full Commodore. We've got 1 night in Picton then tomorrow morning we're off to Nelson (Richmond actually) where we'll get settled in to the motel, spin the legs one last time and head off to rego in the evening.
The Tour begins on Friday - I'll do my best to keep you all updated.
Right, I'd better go and double check that I've packed everything!

Thanks guys and girls
We'll, we've made it to Richmond. We arrived in Picton yesterday afternoon in the pouring rain after a fairly smooth ferry ride. By 8pm the sky had cleared but it was pretty chilly. Sam joined us last night as well so this morning we headed for Nelson as a 4-some. Trev seems to have abandoned her but we're happy to have her with us.
Gabi and I headed out for a short spin earlier on. It's so nice to ride somewhere where, even though there's a bit of wind, you don't feel like you've ridden in to a brick wall when you round a bend!
We've spent the last little while getting speedo's sorted (better today than tomorrow!) and bolts removed from shoes to change cleats... good thing there is a friendly bike shop just up the road
We're all pretty thankful that the weather has cleared and hoping it'll stay that way. Tomorrow we have the Takaka Hill TT in the morning followed by a 48km circuit race in the afternoon. It was the circuit race I pulled out in last year when it was stage 4, so I'll get to deal to that part of the unfinished business on the first day this year.
We'll be heading to sign on in a few hours. There are record numbers this year which is awesome! Last year there were less than 60, this year I've heard talk of something in the 80's.
That's all for now. We're just chilling, eating, resting. I'll update you all sometime tomorrow hopefully

Takaka hill.
Apparently, there are 360 corners on that road, Mot to Takaka. (I CANNOT believe that someone sat in the back whislt we drove over there, counting. Such is the way of geek, i suppose)
