Ow that hurt, i think i rode well attempted to ride the biggest ever rock garden or should that be rock forrest. That was just so hard, it turned into a race of survival. Id never seen so many people with flat tyres, remember kids if running tubeless run UST tyres especially on a rockie track. Nicely run event, the meal was nice even though i chucked it back up
The many dogs hanging around would've enjoyed that!

Mmmm nice. I'm shattered too, finally got back to welly this afternoon... I was wondering after if I could've gone harder after the race (there were no other women around for the second half of my race so was having a little trouble staying motivated to really go as fast as I could) but today I'm pretty bloody tired, so I think I gave it pretty much all I could!! No puking, but I didn't eat the steak...
Yes the rocks were BRUTAL. I took it very cautiously over them to not get flats, it worked, wasn't much fun as charging though. Roll on round 2!!

I don't think tubeless would have saved you - we stopped to help a guy who was running tubeless and still managed at least 4 punctures!
Considering I was running fully rigid I'm very glad/lucky that I didn't get a single puncture and could still ride to work today (and I passed a few fullys on the downhills). However the last 8 kilometres with that headwind and an explosively runny nose damn near killed me, I was ready to adopt fetal position at one point.
Congratulations to everyone who did the race - I think we had a riding time of 4:30 with additional time to take pictures, admire the scenery, talk tihs, and be good samaritans - to do that course at race pace is a truly impressive feat.

Tubeless wouldn't have been a huge help from the sounds of things- but as Aaron says, tubeless tyres with a tubeless setup would have been essential!! No standard tyres with goo in that sort of stuff.
