I'm heading down to Invercargill for a wedding next weekend (reception at the Working Mens Club) and am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for reasonably cheap accommodation close to the city? Eh?

I don't know the area particularly well ya see, so I was hoping a local might have a better idea of what's available in that area Blush

kelvin st hotel is just around the corner from working mans club.

look here -> http://www.hotelclub.com/SearchResults.asp?hotelid=9263

red dot is hotel and the working mans club is just down the road in esk street, about number 16 I think.

Everything in town in invercargill is pretty much 5 mins walking distance from anywhere.

Nah, too much hassle to bring my bike down. Does anywhere in Invers do hire bikes by any chance? Mightn't have much time to go for a ride, but just in case I have a few spare hours up my sleeve on the Sunday or something.. Smile

no where really hires out good bikes. go see glen or rolly at cycle surgery and they have cheap basic bikes for hire. cable discs, alilivo, sr suntours or rst or something.
