Kiwi Matt Scoles is currently sitting in 7th place for seeding for the Junior men DH competition.
With a time of 5:16.30 he is less than 11 seconds back from 1st and only a few seconds off a medal.
A mechanical for Lahar rider David Scandrett made it impossible for him to pedal right off the start and he had to coast the entire track. A flat tire also off the start line for Peter Cooper saw them both well back in the pack. Luckily Lahar have their own mechanic here so it should be fixed by sunday.
Todays timed runs only decide the starting order for the main race on sunday, so anything could happen.
The rain has stopped and the track is still quite wet but its drying fast.

1 Ruariad Cunningham GBR 5:O5.12
2 Josh Bryceland GBR 5:O6.41
3 Steve Smith CAN 5:O9.26

7 Matt Scoles NZL 5:16.32
27 Michael Langford NZL 5:35.85
45 David Scandrett NZL 5:50.84
62 Peter Cooper NZL 10:37.10

Who was the dumb jerk that put the wheel on Daves bike with the tensioner rubber above the axle instead of under it!

does someone think that the tensioner should sit on top?

This disgusts me and I want to know who the culprit was.

Good work Dave, thats a pretty good time for coasting the whole track. Get punter to wring the neck of whoever did that to you.

the tensioner had been split, so it had half the tension required, with that the guide was bouncing right round the back and over the top of the swingarm, then it got caught under the chain.

this is just a typical one off issue caused by a rock most likely, or a tihs bit of stretchy. I've put a new tensioner on it now and its all good.
