Hey everyone,
Ive just got back from the NORBA finals in Snowmass, Colorado which were held over the weekend.
Coming into the weekend I almost wasnt able to race due to a crash the weekend before where I separated the AC joint in my left shoulder, I spent the week leading up to the race resting and icing my shoulder and after a lot of strapping tape and a shoulder brace I managed to get on course for practice.
I felt good in practice and the course seemed to suit my style, unforunately it had a horrible flat creek crossing into a flat road which really let it down which is where i was loosing time to the top guys.
My qualifying run was good but I didnt put a lot of effort into the pedalling so I knew I had time left in me to make up for the finals.
My final run was good, I held all my lines and manage to put in a pretty clean run untill about 40 seconds before the finish line I crashed on a fast, rough flat turn and lost a few seconds. I still managed to cross the line with the fastest time so I got a bit of time in the hot seat.
My run was good enough to put me into 8th place for the day which I was pretty happy with and I also finished up the series in 6th place overall which was great but I was only 2 points away 5th place and a podium finish which disappointed me.
From here I have a couple of weeks free before I fly out to Scotland for the world championships which will be good to have some time off from travelling and racing.
