Oooooooh maybe the new trailstar doesn't work?! ...Or maybe they just found some old frames in a warehouse somewhere and had to sell those first...

my trailstar is the best all round mountain bike ever in my humble opinion. that said i got the O.G. frame with hori-zontal dropouts. it has taken the beatdowns since 2000, has been welded up and is still rollin.

ive done club downhill races, weekend shuttling, 4x, bit of street riding, jumped 20ft doubles at the trails (until i came to my senses and got a bmx for that), then swapped a whole lot of parts and turned it into an xc rig which has taken me around karapoti, makara, the redwoods, to the pub and home again and a whole lot more.

get one, they fckn rule. hopefully the dmr guys see the light and re-release the hori-dropouts ay...

no need, the new swopout dropout has swappable alloy drops - hor or vert, your choice.. only downside is the frame only comes with one set, choose wisely or order both.. Hmmmm

on the plus side, the new 'star120 means my pikes ride xc style at 120, dh style at 140 and street style at 100... mint Double Thumbs Up

I know someone who just bought a Trailstar LT to replace his STP and he loves it, due mainly to the less harsh feeling over the bumpy stuff.

He rides his as a trail and DH bike.

I heard it fits him better too. Smile

But yeah, a lot smoother and more stable down high speed rough tracks.
