Hi all,
At the moment I'm sitting in an internet cafe, sipping my cafe'o'lait, nursing my first bruises from the first day of Knarly World Cup practice here in Champery.
The track is long, crazy, steep, full of bomb holes, sliding rocks, mud, off camber tree roots, and large compromising ruts. Everyone gets to the bottom of the track covered in dirt and sticks and with bewildered looks on their faces! We got a total of 3 practice runs
today... interesting day to say the least. Looks like the officials might be making some changes to some parts of the track, because everyone keeps axe'ing themselves!
I've had a few technical difficulties up until this point, the latest was me dropping my shock spacer off the balcony into a dense swiss hedge..... never to be seen again (although we searched for it for about 2 hours!).
Its beautiful here, cow bells ding-a-ling'ing, lovely weather, and nice people (mostly!)... I have attached some pictures of the swiss area's we have been in, and will send more soon
