Calendar Event: September 15, 2007
Attendees: Definite(18) - 80% Chance(1) - 60% Chance(1) - 40% Chance(1) - Total: 21 - Expected: 20 - View

The largest 12 hour Mountain Bike Event in the world this unique, exhilarating relay is a not to be missed event on the mountain-biking calendar.
Individuals or teams of either two/three or four/five compete over a spectacular 8km course for 12 hours between 10.30am and 10.30pm. There is also the option of a six hour event for teams of 2/3 riders which starts with the 12 hour at 10.30am and finishes at 4.30pm. Both the 12 & 6 hour run over the same course which has been specifically designed to cater for all ability levels and includes fast open park grounds, awesome downhills, pine needle covered forest tracks, challenging single tracks and magnificent scenery alongside the Waikato River.
There is as much action off the track as on it as the Spa Park venue is transformed into a magical tent-city where 3000 mountain bikers, their support crews, spectators, caterers, mechanical and refreshment providers all set up camp. They remain camped at Spa Park for the duration of the action that always provides an excess of hilarity, challenges, sweat, toil and above all a level of enjoyment second to none.

Indeed, the question is to solo or to team it?

Yeah, but at Taupo I would rather run 700C, and a 700x 32 or 35 fixie would be more useful around PNC (for as long as we are here in Palmy, bring on December)
