Was wondering if anyone can give me a bit of an idea of what the Terrafirma DH track at Lismore forest Wanganui is like (surface, jumps/drops, could need mud tires?, anything else useful...).

It is mainly clay and sand. If it rains you will need mud tyres. There is a couple of jumps and drops on the track.

Yip, it's being used for the first round of the north island series starting this weekend. Probably going to go so am after a bit of a heads-up as to what the tracks like.

I went all the way down to Wanganui from Auckland and found out for myself!
So, for anybody else who might be wondering what the track is like.....

The sign at the top named the track as "terror firma"
I'm no geologist but it seemed to be some sort of pumice - clay kind of surface in the open sections with a bit of top soil kind of dirt in the trees.
Definatley would be good to have mud tyres if wet.

As far as I can remember the track went something like this...
Open-ish at the top, faster section along a ridge line before getting into some steep more technical sections with some off camber corners once entering the trees. There were quite a few places amongst the trees where there were a choice of lines. Also I've heard the bottom section gets changed around a bit for different races.
Jumps to note: A step-down near the top, double along the ridge line, gap in the middle of the tree section and a double at finish line (all of these can be bypassed).

If anyone has any corrections or something to add, go for it Double Thumbs Up
