Hey Slacky - Does that mean that after a Labyrinth loop I climb past the Labyrinth entrance, RIGHT onto Spoonhill, then LEFT onto the Bypass?

If so maybe Marco could put an extra line in the description .

Good point re the hardtail time that Clive doesn't have. I'd never really thought of it like that. I'd prob benefit from a fully too. But doubt i'll ever find out. They are too expensive. I saw a frame on TM for a whole $250!!!!!! Thats horsetihs. I'm not spending that kind of cash.

Clive - Still demo a hardtail. If only to realise what I put up with.

Thanks Shane, like I need more options.. I dont want to start sounding like notanotherhill now do I.
there is only two options fully or 29r HT Double Thumbs Up I woundn't bother with a 26 ht, but to be honest I agree with Slacky? for you a fully would be a better option

PS "notwetfeet" would suit you Tongue it ,

After your Labyrinth loop, the last line of that says "this time turn right at third pylon". this will take you down the 4WD to where there are essentially three tracks - the one on the left is the Spoon Hill bypass, the one straight ahead is the original Spoon Hill, and there should also be a track on the right (a bit higher up than the bypass) which is the exit (well, entrance for the way we're riding it in the race) of Labyrinth extension (so where the B2 arrow would be).

From the B course:

Start outside Wainuiomata High school on road
Up Crazyman roller coaster course, past water tower
At top when u meet 4WD ECNZ road, turn left
Left at 3rd Pylon (this will take you down to the three tracks I've mentioned above)
Labyrinth loop
*Right into new Labyrinth descent (B1 arrow)
*Exit to right near Wainui Hill Rd summit
*Climb 4WD ECNZ road
*This time turn right at same 3rd pylon
Repeat Labyrinth loop (B2 arrow) - so you repeat the loop - head back down by turning right into the Labyrinth turn. After you come out of Labyrinth at the bottom, climb up the ECNZ road, turn a right at the third pylon again, then head left down Spoon Hill bypass (where the B3 arrow will be)
Left down Spoon Hill bypass (B3 arrow)
Turn right down private property slope (only rideable on race day)
Cross wasteland (B4 arrow)
Up Jungle Gym
Exit near Wainui Hill Rd summit
Climb 4WD ECNZ road again
Right at 3rd Pylon again
Left down Spoonhill bypass again (B5 arrow)
Cross wasteland (B6 arrow)
Now exit to Waiu St
NORMAL ROAD RULES APPLY – ROAD NOT CLOSED
Left to finish at school keeping left of cones

Not wanting to get too pedantic - but I wouldn't say there's three tracks there. Not three tracks that you can see from one point anyway.

You'll ride down the 4WD to the pylon.
On a wee bit you'll see a track enter from the right. This is the end of the Labyrinth Extension.
You want to keep going straight. You are now onto Spoon Hill proper.
The bypass turns off from Spoon Hill proper - but the turnoff isn't visible from the pylon. You need to roll along there for what I'd say was at least 100 metres?

I trust this is almost confusing enough Eh?

Haha! You ride a girl's bike. Big Grin

Celia / Conners - Thanks very much for the insight. Nice one. I will cruise up one lunchtime to familiarise.

Good as gold.

Speaking of Gold; Jase The Ace is stepping up to Elite at Wainui, now he's found that a strict diet of no training, still wins the M1!!

I will be 1 minute behind at the foot of the rollercoaster due to my low 1x1. Am considering holding onto some jerseys!

Also - Jonny is off to the states and won't be racing. Time to step up Angerman!

Angerman had better pay 1 of his kids to stand up by labyrinth, to count his laps of that for him so he can complete the correct course Paranoid

So, at risk of labouring this.......what is the name of the track opposite the top Labyrinth Extension on the lefthand side?

Sounds like the WTP map needs a refresh. I doesn't show the extension or the bypass. I will check it out next week. Thanks all for the helping hand with my directions.

I think you mean the Spoonhill bypass? It's official name is "491" (the working name was Spoonhill Bypass).

And yeah, the map does need updating on the wtp.org.nz site - the extension of Labyrinth and 491 aren't on it yet.
