 |

So, as we discovered last week, John Key is entirely clueless about how this country came into existence: "One of the unique things about New Zealand is that we are not a country that's come about through civil war or a lot of fighting internally."

Does this worry you?

Not when you see the rest of the interview where he discusses the land wars etc... he was talking about the treaty settlement which happened before the land wars

He is going to get voted in based on what he is not, not based on what he is.
He is not Helen Clark. If National were to have a road kill possum for a leader, they would still get voted in. As long as the possum had no connection to Helen Clark.

Shame Graham Cappill isn't out, he could join forces with Brian Tamaki and really sort this country out....

You're probably right there, I've yet to hear an argument for why we actually need a change of government, other than "They've had their turn."

Bulltihs, he said what he said, and you can't disguise it by claiming he was referring just to the Treaty, because if he really believes that all there was to the formation of this country was the Treaty, then equally he doesn't know tihs about this country. The Land Wars were tantamount to a civil war because they derived in part from a belief that the government had breached the principles of the Treaty.

Meh, Key and Clark are both just figureheads. None of the gubbermunt drones will change at the next election regardless, so what does it matter which silly tawt gives the sound bites for the six o'clock te news?

Agreed, as I said, there is no good reason for NZ to have a change of government.
