Well here's my thoughts on what will happen next.
Sam Hill and Monster Energy go to Trek.
DW link gets sold to Giant to save the hassle of the law suit and disappears in the process.
We'll just have to wait and see.....

I guess they're going to go back to selling loads of low end stuff again, DH isn't a huge market and no doubt Sam Hill will have cost them a lot more than they made from R&D and sales of Sundays.

Well, they want to do big things on the MTB front over the next couple of years, would be a good way to do it. Smile

Still have the hots for a the new 88. Love

Sam Hill may directly sell a lot of Sunday's...
But his worth to the brand as a whole cannot be underestimated.
Ask the average mountain biking punter who rides an Ironhorse, they'll probably only name one person. And that'll be Mr Hill.
So yeah, he not only sells them Sunday's, but also Yakuzza's, trail bikes etc.

If they leave the DH range as it is, and retain Hill. They would be able to sell the upper end bikes as they've described. BUT - If I was planning a strategy, I'd be re-branding the lower end models. As any bike brand sold by the stores listed in that article could tarnish their name.
Iron Pony anyone? Eh?

He might not change brands until 2010...Apparently he believes his bike is an advantage.
He is sponsored primarily by Monster Energy, and even IH can sell Sundays up until the last day of next March...

Apparently there is a new DH bike coming out with a DW link, Samuel might go with that, and build effectively another Sunday. His bike had his own geometry anyway, it was not a production bike. Who knows. Wink

How many people here have ACTUALLY ridden a Sunday??
It is hands down, the best bike out there for DH at the moment. The V10 and Yeti come close, but the Sunday definately holds an advantage.
Look at the fastest riders, they ride the bikes mentioned above and for good reasons.

It will be a shame to lose such a good DH bike, but I'm sure whoever works with the likes of Hill next will produce something of equal quality if they know how to listen. Wink

Lay down the crack pipe and stop gargling Sam's mayonaise. Remember the first generation of them? Two friends had numerous problems I think Scotty will remember Jarna and Lauren's grey ones. A lesson not to buy the first year of any bike.

VPP was trying to get around Specialized's patent.

Good riders are fast period.

He's on the monster team, ironhorse just provide bikes, when the contract is up they may change brands, remember team Maxxis?

Still doesn't impress me like Nico did, co-designing his own bikes and suspension to get every last bit out of the bike, now thats a real talent.
