{Posted via mobile.vorb.org.nz} I'll fix my road bike (I'm only riding my mountain bike at the moment) and have a crack this weekend.

good stuff Smile

although dunno if the weather is looking conducive to a good time with strong southerlies predicted. good for happy valley, but not so good for the other parts of the route.

it's all about picking the right day Blush

A find a light northerly to be best, or a totally still day.

Are you just visiting Alister or are you here to stay? - It would be good to see you back keeping the A grade honest this season.

{Posted via mobile.vorb.org.nz} Ummmm, sort of visiting... long story...

I don't think I will be racing much as it would mean I would need to upgrade my license to an international one (I have an Aussie license).

I might fit the Ayup lights to the road bike tonight and go round the bays.

Has anyone ever thought of getting the council to paint kilometre marks on the road to help things? It helps if its the special no wearing paint they do the road markings with. They do it on some of the routes here in Europe. No big deal where you start it, but if they are on the routes around the bays and along the favourite rides then it makes life alot easier and also cuts out discrepancies regarding bike computer set ups. It can also be done on the pavement to help runners, but you may not want that. Double Thumbs Up
Either that or you paint stuff on the road like they do in France

Either that or I get a Skoda Octavia with 12 bikes on the roof and filled with a bunch of Italian/French yelling at you to follow you guys round the bays and shout out split times and give you water bottles and various drugs.

{Posted via mobile.vorb.org.nz} Went round last night (bit sketchy in some parts in the dark!).

Was just over 48 minutes, not sure of average speed as my Polar speed sensor needs a battery.

{Posted via mobile.vorb.org.nz} I have no idea as my speed sensor wasn't working.

I think I got lucky last night as it was calm and I had almost no traffic, but a lot colder than my last decent effort on a road bike (a crit in 36 degrees!)
