Joel is indeed correct... Sifter has moved into 2nd behind Buds who continues to lead and Joel who is in 3rd.

Buds also leads the classification competition which should now see a lot of people out of the running following the departure of Mauricio Soler. Spyder sits in 2nd and Friendly Llama 3rd.

After stage 5 the perfect 10 are: Kirchen, Freire, Evans, Millar, Schumacher, Pineau, Hincapie, Zabel, Hushovd, Hunter - worth 7,890 points.

Other interesting facts... the worst rider (excluding Duclos-Lassalle who didn't score any points) is Wim Vansevenant who has scored a paltry 39 so far. But if he does finish tonight's stage he'll grab a minimum of 3 points to overhaul Soler who sparced together 41 before bombing out.

Yay! I thought I had Soler in my 10, but I must have subbed him out at the last minute Smile

Pity I had him for KOM though. I didn't even think about Voeckler, reckon he can hack the real mountains and hold onto it, or just having a taste of the polka dots?

No, he'll be gone as soon as they hit Super-Besse. The real climbs have much bigger points too...

Fair enough. I was wondering if since his spot in the limelight last year (or was it the year before) he might have developed into a climber. Seems like a resillient little bugger from his fight last time. He's still young isn't he? Reckon he'll go anywhere in the next few years?

Amazing how those memories linger... Voeckler's moment in the spotlight was 2004. He will never amount to a significant GC contender (he's 29 years old now). Can't TT to save himself or get up the big mountains fast enough.

Durrr, of course I knew it was a lance year, but didn't realise it was that far back. I'm getting old (at 21) Sad
I guess he was a young rider then, but now he's near over the hill Laugh Out Loud

Sifter has indeed dropped off the podium. Buds has lost top spot and slipped to 5th as his sprinter heavy team felt the pain of the first mountains. Top 3 are now Friendly Llama, Joel and Kah.

In the classifications comp, Buds leads from Spyder and Friendly Llama.

The perfect "Top 10" after stage 6 is: Kirchen, Evans, Schumacher, Millar, Hincapie, Pineau, Vande Velde, Pereiro, S. Sanchez, Efimkin - worth 9,280 points.

I'm just about to start updating the scores after stage 7. Have decided that Beltran as a result of his positive test will be stripped of all points banked to date which may affect one or two people's scores.
