Correction: Railways, something a NATIONAL GOVERNMENT sold that was bought back by Labour because they realised that National are kcocs.

Superfund - http://www.nzsuperfund.co.nz/files/2007%20Annual%20Report%20Editorialsblahblahblah
Return on investments $1,590.7 million ..... Yeah that's one hell of a "great loss" they're making!

AirNZ - Less than one billion for an 80% share.... And then Qantas offered more than half a billion for a less than 25% share.... Suggests that was a billion dollars well spent (and heck, the super fund's 2007 profit more than paid for it anyway! Tongue it )

[rant]

With super it's not the government investing it's money, it's the government investing your money how it wants.

I've made tihsloads more investing what little I have left over for savings after the government has taken what it wants off me, imagine what I could have done if I had got to keep all my money.....

but of course those in castle helengrad knows best for all of us....

(and no I'm not tell you guys how to make lots because then you lefty interfering knaws will quit you day jobs and spend more time meddling with other peoples business)

The idology of this labour government is as bad if not worse than that of the 1990's right wing governments, whe were very much a product of the environemtn the inheritied. So many people seem to have forgotten in how bad a shape NZ was in in the late 80's.

And if you think the current National can be compared to those 1990's ones and that labour will storm back as National reveals it policies I think you find yourself rather disillusioned after the elections.....

Current National can't be compared to anyone until they finally get around to pulling some policies out of their esra.

Only a couple of months out from an election that they're looking like they're going to win... And yet our Government in waiting hasn't told us anything about how they plan to run our nation. Is anyone else just a little bit worried? I like Bill English, but I think John Key is a clueless n00b ..... I sure hope he doesn't do too much damage Sad

Not worried at all, parliament is like a yacht tacking up wind, you don't want to go too far left or too far right as you'll end up off course, so every now and then you need to change direction for a while......

National have been giving plenty of signals about what they stand for, if you haven't been able to pick them up you either not the sharpest tool in the shed or scared of being on the wrong side of the debating chamber for at least the next 3 years....

Remember, everything labour has done over the last 3 terms could be reversed given enough time and effort, however how long do you think National would last if it tried to ditch the popular policies without offering an acceptable alternative to the public....

This labour government's time has passed, what awaits to be seen is if national will be a 1 term wonder or if it can go the distance like labour has.

Yep, pretty much all National has done is gals off Labour and said things like "...but National would have done it better."

They need to get off their esras and tell us WHAT they're going to do, rather than just say "we'd have done a better job than Labour has", which is very easy, sitting in your chair and saying you'd have done a better job without actually saying how.

Vote National, vote for unsubsidised GP visits.

Why release policies now and let Labour steal it out from under your feet, like promised tax cuts at last election which Labour renegged on... you wait til the last minute and dazzle the public so Labour can't steal their policy and enact it themselves, its basic politicing, not a lack of direction or policy, surely you can understand that Sly

well, duh.

Your 2005 Epic comp is perfectly serviceable, but you just bought a full carbon frou frou mobile with titanium doohickeys and magnesium thingies, and an XTR bottle cage.

like that.

Re: superfund - just spotted this: http://www.stuff.co.nz/4598028a13.html. Can't be too far off insider trading.. gubberment blocks overseas investment causing the price of the shares decrease, superfund invests at a good price... Hmmm.. Sounds bloody dodgy to me..
