given the doom and gloom cast around on oil prices, interesting article in stuff this morning;

http://www.stuff.co.nz/4561229a13.html

stuff.co.nz wrote:
Aircraft maker Boeing expects the price of oil to fall back to a long-term average of between US$70 and US$80 a barrel

of course Boeing have a self interest in convincing investors that oil prices will drop. but still good to see a counter article for once to contrast the peak oil style forecasting that the NZ media is continualy running with.

Just because YOU'VE never heard of it doesn't mean it is necessarily science fiction. Eh?

Wheels may or may not be a crackpot, but he acknowledges his sources and certainly spends lots of time researching his POV before he puts it out there...

A good conspiracy theory makes the world go round Tongue it

Entirely correct though, price is all about supply and demand, and you'd have to be pretty naive to think they don't manipulate supply to push the price up.

And the higher the price the more viable it becomes to explore previously marginal oil reserves, and of course if the price falls they just reduce output to crank it back up to where it's cost effective.

Current price of oil i smore to do with commodities markets makinga lot of money than anything else.

Theres real pressure under it, but not much, Oil production is a little behind whats needed and theres some under investment of refining capacity that needs sorting but its a few % no where near the cause of the silly oil price hikes.

A small group of city boys are making a lot of money on this.

Hmmm I am not sure that he is totally up with the theory of where oil comes from. From what I have read I thought oil came from organic vegetable matter, not from animals!!
