Original definition of holeshot = first rider to make it to the first corner (in motocross)
But in this instance it makes sense

Some research also leads me to believe that the term may have actually originated from drag racing! Anyway - we all get the point.

He started well and it all went down hill from there
And how bloody hard must it be to run in SPD shoes. I find walking in mine is bad enough.

I find mine pretty good because they're so stuffed! After four years of wear, the sole is rather flexy, and all the tread has worn away at the top

you need lake MX165's
perfect for jungle missions where the bike may need to be shouldered, or for Le Man's style race starts!!

Thanks to the organisers and volunteers for a fun race. It was great to catch up with ya'll too.
Notes to self for next year:
1. Learn to run (I got caned on the 500m dash to the bikes)
2. ALWAYS take the beer shortcuts (I foolishly saved my shortcut until the last lap - doh!)
Roll on the N-duro's!

Cheers Bluedogss
Not surprisingly only 16 finishers in open men. That course was brutal.

Well, technically not entirely true... they stopped the race after the winners came through, so anyone not on the same lap wasn't allowed back out to "finish" the race. The toughness of the course meant that people would've been out there in the dark trying to finish. Therefore, 5 or 4 laps isn't a DNF.
