Since they are starting this Friday thought I better start a thread.
Up in Napier great course very hilly but a lovely course with a few rollers before finish if anyone wanted to attack early.

Start lists are on the Ramblers website, hardly any seniors racing but a few under 23s, and loads of women.
Im going with Linda Villumsen for the win!
(But guessing she can't take the title unless she has been declared a citizen by now?)
Which will be cool cause then Jo will have support at Olympics.

Time trial will be close in elite, i'd say Pete, Tim, Glen or Marc?
Matt hayydock or Clinton for Under 23
And hmmm maybe Mesy could beat Ali in t.t. As she was up last year until she punctured.

I think Mark langlands will be close in Under 23s, and Clinton, Matt...
Elite i'll go with Yates!

When it comes to the business end it'll be Dean, Yates, Blackgrove, McCauley, Chadwick, Henderson and Gudsell to watch the closest.

At the end though... Julz to defend his title from Hendy and Blackgrove. When it comes to the crunch I think that the field may just be a little bit too classy for Yates' form.

Is Roly riding? He'd be my dark horse pick to possibly snatch the title if he is.

In the Men's TT I'm picking the same one two as last year... Chaddy then McCauley but by a smaller margin.

Ok found the entry list.

No Hendy or Roly but Julz is there at number 1.

That rejigs things a bit but still some strong guys there in Dean, Vennell, Gudsell, Chadwick, Blackgrove and McCauley. I don't see Yates featuring for the win... Maybe good enough for third but I put him in the company of Hutchings and Latham as featuring in the top 10.

Only 39 starters in mens elite which is a ssip poor turnout. Good to see better turnouts by the under 23s and even the elite women!

I think Fergie will feature towards the start, Danose on the Hills - but in all reality, I think we'll see Beeker have the class to finish off the field.

I see a Gregory Henderson in the start list for the Australian Elite championships to be held this week. The only reason I can come up with why he is in Aus and not in NZ for our elites is because he is going to work for Michael Rodgers from his telecom team (or whatever they are now called). Anybody else know?

The other reason could be maybe his missus has him under the thumb.

Could somebody in an extra nice mood text me the results from the race today when they come out and Sunday?
Would be ever so grateful, off to Auckland shortly and won't have access to the internet!

West is currently leading the U23 riding a 53.31, James Dobson 54.41, beating Bewley and Jess. Haydock and Clinton are the only ones left to ride
