I'm gonna be up there on holiday.
Keen for some trail riding. Have a vehicle so can travel if needed.
Who's doing what?

Best bets:
Parihaka: hill close to town over the Hatea river. Here's my website, with directions to get there and some details about Parihaka:

Western Hills. Enter through the quarry on Maunu rd, climb up through 4wd track, and there are some nice rooty and technical descents heading east from the top that come out near the Western bypass.
Glenbervie is a forest on the road out to Parua Bay, lots of 4wd track, some single track. Lots of exploring here.
Onerahi. At the end of Cartwright road, climb up the 4wd drive track and there is some single track that links into Awaroa River Rd.
Could be hard to find the single track in most of these places without a guide. Try asking at one of the bike shops for better directions once you are there or hook up with locals.

rode at glenbervie today. tried tin bum but it seems really overgrown. went back and across main road following a trail sign but no trail. gave up and just rode around the car park
