Calendar Event: February 9, 2008 - February 10, 2008

The 19th Bev May Women's Tour of Morrinsville is coming soon. A Grade & B Grade race together and this year we have added C Grade to have separate races. Under 17 & Under 15 race together (with Under 13 included). Separate prizes for grades.

Four Stages: 2x road race, 1x 21km time trial, 1x criterium.

This event is fantastic for licenced cyclists of all abilities. Great spectator viewing also. See NZ's top athletes compete for the tour leader jersey, sprint ace and hill climber jerseys.

That looks like fun! If I wasn't planning on racing in a MTBing event that weekend, I would have considered coming up and entering C-grade! I'm Cool

I have been in touch with previous winner Susy Pryde. This is what she had to say about the tour:

Bev May's Womens Tour is as iconic as number eight wire on the Womens calendar of racing in New Zealand. Bev's pioneering attitude helped establish the foundations for Women's multiple stage tours, and has long inspired many of our best female racers across all age groups on the road to the higher echelons of the cycling world. Almost impossible to imagine life without it.

Thanks Susy

Smile There seems to be quite a bit of interest in this tour thus far... Perhaps some Australians coming over too!!

C Grade should be popular, racing separate to A/B Grade. Shorter courses (except time trial). Great social opportunity too.

Please contact organisers if you are keen to get involved in this tour! Smile
