Back on a serious note. None of the IT departments I have worked in have ever put any thought into how much electricity the equipment is going to draw down as part of its purchasing decision. Those blade servers put out so much heat you can stand behind them for the quick blow dry experience.
That is even including the work place that was so super green they put a wind turbine on the roof and put everyone on laptops (so they could hot desk, and reduce the amount of floor space per employee, gee, lets wrap up a cost saving measure in a big green ribbon).
One of my mates has a watt meter on the front of their computer. Day to day windows, approx 100w, but as soon as the 3d card gets pushed hard it jumps to 200+.
