Try and do a few 6 hour long rides in the 2 or 3 weekends before the event. The hardest thing I found was to get into a pace you can keep going at all day. Snack regularly but avoid eating too much too fast. Keep riding your bike until someone tells you to stop.

Grrrrr - Thing One was over yesterday and he said, "hey - we should do the 12 hour solo again" - to which I found myself replying; "yeah, I'll do it ... that was fun"
That was NOT fun! Why do I always agree to these things?!
