Calendar Event: November 12, 2008 Next Wednesday, 12 November from 6 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. we would like to invite a cross-section of cyclists to take part in a group discussion. The venue is in Central Auckland.
Each participant will receive $70.00.
We will ask cyclists about their cycling activities, how that fits into their life and the kind of customer needs cyclists have as a bike owner and what you think of various brands or types of bikes.
If you are aged 18-55, and a Mountain Biker please phone Angie on 04-4759625 or txt me to 021-02329277 and I will ask you 8 short questions to ensure you fit the criteria. Alternatively you can email me to a-njb[at]clear.net.nz and I will phone you. We are wanting to speak to both men and women.
Look forward to hearing from you!
Regards,
Angie

One more mountainbiker needed! Surely someone out there wants $70 to spend on bike bling?

Why not simply post those questions up on vorb and save time and money?

I think it would produce some valuable market research. Advertisers need to know what people really think about products, and they need to understand the culture of the people that use those products.
Also, don't devalue the contribution of the younger users of this site. They are a valuable market, and therefore their opinions on products are useful.

See, that just goes to show how young and stupid you really are. You've got no cash so marketers don't care what you think - they care what your parents think

Marketing to a 16yo is easier than a 30yo. 16yo's have less brains so bright colours, shiny bits and high price tag gets all their money

But check the buy and sells - full of groms haggling over $5 on the price of a $20 used tyre.
The bike industry needs to cater for high volume, low margin folks. But there are also a fair few on vorb spending serious coin on 29ers, cyclocross and other low volume emerging sectors of cycling. Have you SEEN the price of 29er kevlar bead mountain kings?
