whining petulantly that it's a DH track now is just weak - just cos GC ran a (tame/beginner oriented) race down it once does not make it so!!!

No one said that it is a DH track now... it was said that it is NOT just an XC track now. You can bleet on all you like, bridges is and always will be thrashed by DHers! It will never be safe to ride up it anymore due to how high use it is now.

Get with the times man. Bikes, riding styles and tracks change... Go out and actually ride bridges instead of moaning about it on here and you will see that EVERYBODY can and does use it and that it is not DHers and GC that are responsible for the state of it... It is ALL riders including you!

Haha... yeah I did write that but I like the way you took it out of context!

People need to get used to the fact the bridges is DH track now. By DH I mean you ride it downhill (on any bike). It may have been uphill once but now you are just asking to mes yourself and probably someone else up if you try... Besides back then you never used to see another rider!

I never said it was a track for DHers just that it is downhill!!!

I am 100% convinced that the track is shared use... That is what I am ranting about. But people keep saying it is an XC track that DHers and GC wreck it.

Hey man... be my guest to ride up it but you are likely to get slammed into by someone ... And it highly likely it wont be a DHer!

Give it up guys , those XC guys will never get it.

Just this norning i was driving up towards Thompsons car park from Sign of the Kiwi and came across two ( 2 ! ) groups of XC types riding on the right side of the road Oooooooh , I was travelling at about 40 km/hr ( speed limit is 70 ) and looking out for walkers / runners and cyclists. The idiots were jay? riding down the road , I slowed and for my troubles I got from some hoe " slow down" , stupid cow needs a reality check and if shes reads this then own up so I can HAVE A WE TALK TO YOU - hctib Angry

Rant possibly over Hmmmm

That would be typical, there is a track that runs along side that stretch of the summit road yet I always see people riding/walking up the road.

Danose, where are beginner and intermediate DHers supposed to ride?

You're complaining that DH riders shouldn't head down gummies/dazzers/brents/bridges now, and that if you do DH you should go down nats/raadi.

You don't seem to understand that not everyone can ride double black diamonds the very second they buy a bike with more than 4" of travel.

I'm With Stupid - gummies/dazzers/brents/bridges are wasted on XC guys anyway , they do not hit the drops, they brake the whole way and generally chew a rut down the trail , they do not hit the jumps - in fact thinking about it they should stick to the 4WD tracks and let the big boys/gals ride the rough stuff Big Grin
