Wasn't there an XC/epic trail in there somewhere. Some older MTBr guys have told me about riding it, but like most of the stuff around he it all falls off the radar.

As far as i was aware Rick and a few others just built that track up there without permission. The council know about the track but havnt seen to do anything about it.

I rode up there with my mate when i was at Krankin last. We fixed up a few burms and some of the track. Best go see Rick there and ask whats what as to building another DH track.

when you're writing a proposal to the council, don't ask them for money for tools, only ask for permission, get the tools your self or write to Ground Effect and ask them if they'll give you any $$ from their slush fund,

slushfund[at]groundeffect.co.nz

the council going to sign a piece of paper saying that you can build the tracks a long time before they'll hand out rate payers money Double Thumbs Up

Wow! That happened YEARS ago. Funny how one person's actions can be so far-reaching..........

Good luck!

I've also only heard the story second-hand........but I have actually meet/ridden with the guy who purportedly assaulted the ranger (never asked him about it though, not really the done thing to do Huh )

You worried he'll go you to Laugh Out Loud Paranoid
I have never been told who it was. But told much the same story by a few (3 or 4) people.
Just goes to show one screws it for the rest.
