Now do not take this the wrong way, but I hope when you wrote your email to the council you're grammar and style of writing is not as you post here.

Now as I say do not take ths comment the wrong way, it is not an attack on you for any reason, just an enquiry .

I was thinking it, and you came along and said it.

If you're serious about building some sustainable tracks up in the Hakarimata's, you could try talking to Bruce Clarkson.......he's the Head of the Biology Dept at Waikato Uni so he's a pretty busy guy but he's also the go-to guy regarding this area (he just won some conservation award to do with his work iup there).

The key to getting the go ahead to build legal tracks in the Hakarimata's is to ensure sustainability and minimise footprint (parc, I sound like an environmental scientist don't I? Blush)

Good luck

Have they solved the problem with keeping the motos out of Te Miro yet?

Last I heard, someone was talking to Matamata-Piako District Council about helping to get the area up and running again.......did they get a response?

Worst thing about Te Miro is it doesn't appear to be administered by anyone in particular. Lots of different people with very different ideas are/have been doing bits and pieces out there.

Best way forward (in my humble opinion) is to create a club of sorts to administer trail building/maintenance.

Also, talk to the guys at Four Seasons in Cambridge......they're who used to run the Gutbuster XC event out there many years ago

Write a proposal, get the support of the relevant people and you'll be away.
