We're planning on shuttling next Sunday Mike

I might be able to offer another 4wd with 4-5 dh bike rack for the day if it helps?

I may be going on a 4wd trip that day though...ill check it out and get back to you all Double Thumbs Up

Yea more the merryier.
If you come and do some digging for a while an dont mind carrying some other diggers the club will give you some money for gas.

Me and Jordan were booked to go on Maidstone track inspection last night but pulled out becuse of the rain and excesive amounts of greasy clay.

Instead we went back into town for a street ride , FKN mint ride, shession all through town , got permission from security to ride civc square ,chafers park even did some urban downhill shuttles on the cable car.

Reckon we will do it agin some time soon .

Dave: do you reckon you could give us a map of the course you and hadley had in mind.

Cheers

Yeah that was a wicked ride. Havent had a good urban session in ages. Doing the old urban downhill without lights made for an interesting run. I had no idea where I was going. Second run with lights was a little easier.

Digging is most definitely off for today - the weather is way too parcpy. And given the amount of rain last night (and today), there won't be any shuttling permitted in the gully today either.

I am thinking of heading out for a wee ride though. Maybe something in makara peak; it's mostly sheltered from the southerlies

Mmm. I can remember a ride many years back - out to red rocks - in a strong northerly. Someone got caught by a gust, picked up (on their bike), thrown over a fence and landed about 5m away.

It was very informative. I intend to stay away from the worst of the gusts Wink

The weather was mint up there yesterday. brief rain and wind around lunchtime but the sun came back after about an hour.

My corner is about 80% complete.
So you can safely ride the existing corner at speed & drop over the step into the new berm that lines you up nicely for the next section (thats prety rough and off camber).

All this rain will be packing down the loose soil nicely.

I dug a small drain in the bowl that was collecting water. The puddle was deeper than my boot!

Heh - yeah - drains are essential in places like that. Did you use rocks, drainage hose or something else ingenious?
