I'm up for something in the afternoon too. Any time from 1pm on...although if it's raining, I'm more likely to head up makara and try and get some more fitness in...

Yep. I think I might head out for a loop around makara, and then a wee session at the karori bmx jumps. At least it'll be a tail wind

I think it's either going to be wet or windy until wednesday. Which, as fortune would have it, is my riding night. Might try with that idea to get out and have a look at danzig again then. Assuming that it's not a wet slipfest out there...

Kewl. I'll try and tee something up with craig - it's his back yard after all. I've wanted to ride there for a while - the last time we were there was my first time down the track. The sun had disappeared over the hill, and I could see the lip of the jumps and drops, but had no idea how long or big they were, so I nana'ed my way around most of them.
I don't like riding jumps blind the first time, that's my problem

Ditto, I have been there once, in the wet, with a broken foot walking up sucked as you could imagine.
As for riding jumps blind, put on an eyepatch and legitimise it

Well, hopefully not as bad as ben (from burkes) last wednesday. He overjumped(!) the triple at the bottom of the course and gave himself a mangina on his shin. Looked rather gruesome...

ROFL magina. That jumps apparently very easy to over jump. One dude who was there the wednesday before race day told me if he didn't suck up the landing he would be landing about 5 - 6 meters from the landing. My new goal is to hit the last jump on the track, its by far the safest most do able jump there just ogtta man up and hit it.
Lo and behold how ever I wasted a weekend by being sick. Not even spicy thai green chicken crurry could affect my dead tastebuds.

Personally, I reckon that the double before the stepdown-to-the-wallride is the safest jump - overjumping doesn't involve any worries, and there is a nice straight line into it.
