*clever edit*
Hurry up! only a few days left!
*end clever edit*
Maybe not, but a competition non the less. Probably closer to a colouring in competition, but with GREAT prizes.
Project Mini VORB.
My new car is in need of a new paint scheme, and I cant decide on quite what to do, so I’m putting up some prizes and getting vorbii to provide me with ideas.
First, whats on offer:
Membership to the VORB Foundation
• If already a member, then a $50 credit @ vorbshop!
• Get access to all the “extras” on site!
• Increase performance by 23%!*
A VORB shirt.
• Look cool.
• Advertise this great site
• Look cool (this bit deserves repeating)
Something else.
I haven’t decided yet, but there will be another prize here of some sort. Maybe a DVD or something else from vorbshop.
THE RULES
The car is a Mini, yes that’s right, a Mini. Not one of those new ones that isn’t really small either, but a real mini. In fact it’s a Clubman 1275GT, completely unmodified and (so far) unraced.
I plan to race it eventually, so graphics should not be placed on the centre of the doors, as that’s where the race number goes.
I am on a budget, so no real expensive paint effects or complicated graphics please.
Utilising the vorb logo creatively gains extra points.
Anyone suggesting “chromies” or anything involving “neon’s” will automatically have their entry void. This also goes for suggestions like chop and channel, VTiR engine install, Turbo it etc. This is a Mini, not pmip my ride.
File sizes are the same as for any vorb posting, or email them to me directly at thorg[at]vorb.org.nz
Entries become the property of Thorg, and closing date is October 29th.
Catagories:
Thorgs choice: although not guaranteed to get their design made real, the design that I think most suits the mini will get foundation membership.
VORB Favourite: Basically the peoples choice.
The almost: Again, if I see a design with an aspect I would like to use, but not the entire design, they will get a prize in recognition. This prize, at my discretion, could also go to the lurker who uses this competition for their first post (post must include design, not just a comment).
So, if you are lurking, here is a chance to come out of hiding and WIN!
If you know someone who is in art school, get them onto vorb to look.
Photoshop the picture, or submit your design however you see fit.
*results may vary, contact the gimp before extreme experimentation

PLEASE remember that this is not pmip my ride, and this vehicle will probably be gravelled, so lowering is a no-no. Its already on 12inch wheels (standard 10), but I am trying to get some 13inch minilites to increase tyre choice. Minilites will be able to be painted, so coloured wheels are an option for artists. Chances are it will get tinted windows as well, to keep interior temps down.
photoshop any mini you want, just remember that the clubman shape is a little different to the standard.

Cool...
Taking out to over 1300 would put me in with the big boys of 2wd gravel for north Is comp, so no (Sth get to go to 1400, lucky basdrats.) Twin Weber will be going on, some head work will be getting done, electric ignition circuit etc. But i digress, this is a competition for the outside of the mini, although inteligent contributions to the drive specs greatfully received
Cooool I used to rally a Mini :-)
make sure the power band is a lot wider than the gear ratios, and you will go faster than some dude with huge carbs and hot cams..
How's the left foot braking??
