Fox Forks Decisions... What To Do?

Postby andy_cliff on Fri 19/Aug/11 12:20am

Hey there guys, as the title shows im a wee bit stuck as to what to do...

The issue is i have 2 sets of forks, 1 set of 2007 Fox Talas RL (white) that have a rather "rough" left leg that is starting to seep a small amount of oil thru...and the second set is some 2006 Float RL 130mm forks that have a crack below the arch.

What im wondering is does anyone know where i could suss some uppers for the Talas or even some lowers for the Floats??

And no i dont thrash my bikes to breaking point (well i do but not these forks) i bought 3 sets for a rather cheap price with the other set sweet it was a good deal for $400 so i figured i could have fixed these 2 but if not they will be on trademe up for grabs...

Any ideas of what to do with them? (apart from give them away :D )

Cheers!

why don't you make one set of forks out of the 2?, it sounds like you've got a good lower and a good set of uppers?

i would be taking the lowers of the talas and putting them on the floats.

Just from looking at them it looked like they wouldnt fit for some reason the crown looked slightly narrower?

I will measure them and check. It was the first thing i thought dont worry :p the other thing i thought about was the travel situation.
It wont matter that the crown on the talas are adjustable and the floats arent? will the top adjustments just switch over?

Sorry as you can tell im a rookie when it comes to fox forks :D
Cheers guys
