Disclaimer: I'm also using this as a sauce of statistics to use in conjunction with the compulsory helmet law dabate. I'm sure there will be a correlation in there somewhere....

Somehow food became a psychosocial thing rather than a fuel thing. What we need the govt to legislate is a one-food-fits-all like cars - run on one fuel sauce > CarboProtrient (TM) ?

Just keep it simple - flavoured liquid or solid.

Yeah chuck it in. Folate makes you ride faster, it is used for red blood cells and other good stuff.

Mothers (and preferably fathers) need to have enought at least a month BEFORE conception. By the time they are aware of the pregnancy it is too late. Given the very high rate of unplanned pregnancies in NZ it is just not fair on the kids, neural tube defects are no joke.

Folate is already a mandatory supplement in USA, Canada, Australia, Chile.

We've already had a generation of stupider than normal NZers because the Min of Health moved a decade or two too slow on iodine after our iodised salt consumption patterns changed. The surveys showed that many breast-fed babies have missed out on the iodine they needed to grow their brains because NZ mothers were often malnourished themselves.
