Don't listen to babs, he's silly.
bikes sweet
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT put barends on your riser bars. Tankman had to apply for a special dispensation and only jst got that after hours of groveling at the feet of the MTB gods. I wouldn't want you to go thru the same trials and tribulations that poor tankman had to go thru. that and it's just plain old wrong

Babs pump up your rear tire for gawdsakes, it's driving me nuts

RST Gamma TL's :paranoid:

The idea was ride 'em till they are fucked, then get bombers/blacks/fox vanillas

One year and they are still fairly sweet though... So I won't be replacing them anytime soon (unless they die sometime soon) :paranoid:

I'd stay away from 8" rotors on a 9mm QR fork myself. Not recommended by the manufacturers, it isn't...

Maybe just go 7"? It's less likely to get warped, too...

Nice ride, tho, man...the FSR platform is a modern classic!

RST make much better forks than Rock Shox - Ricky's riding on 4-yo+ Hi-5's at the moment... Bugle has RST's too :p

Foam opinion at the current time seems to be that the only Rock Shox forks worth owning are boxxers... :eh:

Maybe someone else will comment on this - Tama is a fork expert of mythical reputation :eh: :paranoid: - Well maybe not 'mythical', but he knows his shit...

And I like my RST Gammas - I've destroyed two wheels in the last year while riding on those forks... And the forks are sweet  :paranoid: :)

MikeD - There was a bigass bitch-fest at www.mountainbike.co.nz about this very issue... It comes down to how hard you're braking in terms of fucking your forks - You can do just as much damage with 6' rotors as with 8' rotors... Just it's easier with 8' ones :eh:

Avid tech folks reckon they'll be OK on most modern forks anyway :eh:

Yeah I still would be wary putting a 8 inch rotor on those forks.
From experience (XSIV DH 4 pot & 8 inch rotor + 98 Marzocchi Z1)
I would say either get a 6 inch rotor, be very careful, get new forks, or look at getting a BMX axle and bolt the front wheel on instead of QR.
I have just a new pair of forks, the Z1's are a great fork, just not with
a huge DH brake on the front that threatens to destroy the front end
of my bike every time I braked heavily.
Get to try out the new Shiver SC forks tomorrow at D Day!!
