Feckler Done, The Future Is Sparkly..

Postby richardg on Sun 6/Sep/09 8:29pm

Hey there, for fathers day I finally finished putting Mel's (pumpkinrock, not mel by vorb name) bike together, then she went riding on it, while I looked after the kids. hmmm. Anyway the paint is pretty flash looking, though you can't really see how lush it is in any of these pictures, but it chips really easily, as shown in one of the pictures. I guess now its all go I can't really claim to be test riding it anymore so will have to replace the gear cable in my bike, or something. cheers to the boys for getting it here, And thanks to the anti roadie division of freaky stylie.

Saw Mel + the purple Feckler hoofing down through Vic Park today - to say it is a distinctive bike is understatement ! Good job Richie. And letting her go ride on fathers day 'n all - what a man ! Gave her a shout out, but don't think she recognised me in bike gear 'nstead of paddle shorts ! Funny that

Trail / mountain bike
73.5 seat
67.5 head
22.5" tt
7" travel
.5" bb rise
16" st / size
16.5"cs
thats what it is supposed to be, should be fairly close to that.
gears equivelent to 11-34 cassette on a 25tooth chainring, which seems pretty good, easy enough to get up worsleys, but still don't spin out on the traverse...
I guess the plan for it was to build a light (ish) bike with a low swingarm pivot, to reduce chainstay growth / distance back of the rear wheel when suspension compressed. I'm not sure how important keeping the back end short is really, but it was an objective, decided from maybe two times when I'd felt the back wheel miles behind me in switchbacks on my bike.

looking good Richard! When do the production models start shipping?? I assume you can get them in any colour you like as long as it is purple sparkle!!

Now just remember to strap it onto the car very securely if you go anywhere!!

Yes, but no, but... richardg has had some bad luck with bikes getting nicked... so he'll need some top security for this sparkly one. There was no malice in what I said... honest... :paranoid:
