My dealings with Paul have been excellent also. But the "simplify and focus on other stuff" thing I totally get.
Seconded  or would that be 3rd, 4th or 5th by now :eh:
Hopefully who ever does Cotic in the future does the job just as well.

Not sure if anyone will do Cotic. Outside of the UK, we were the only distributor. And that was because Cy and I go way back. I think he'll just return to selling internationally from the UK. It works out good if you can get a couple of frames over at once. Shipping is about $200 a frame then, and with current exchange rates the prices look good. You even get to knock 17.5% VAT from the UK price and only add 12.5%GST which helps a little more.

My Cotic rocks. It was special having one of the first around.

And then they sort of became common, especially in Welly. One of the rides in the Aka's (Dopey Bull if I remember correctly) was likely to have 6 Simples and Souls turn up before bad weather a wet day saw a few pikers flag the ride.

Common because they ride so damn nice. I liked it so much that I hardly rode my fully for 2 or 3 years.

Last year I had an itch. I wanted a new bike, probably only because I could. But what? Burlier fully. 29er. Replace the Soul - there were a couple of Ti bikes that were tempting. But there wasn't really anything I didn't like about the Soul.

I settled on a Blur LT. And it is everything I wanted it to be. It pushed the Soul into mainly commuter duties for the past 9 months or so.

But a ride on the Soul at Makara Peak only last night reignited the spark. Today I ordered the new forks and it's going to get another pair of new wheels. Time to return to the jungle I think.

I'm certainly glad you brought them into the country Paul. And have been happy to tell people how much I like it and why.

And maybe a little glad you have stopped. One day they might be as sought after as Slackers, with their own thread and cult following and everything. I expect I'll still own mine, putting on new parts and searching out more singletrack and new jungle rides.

See you on the trails Paul.

Thats one of the best posts I've read on Vorb for some time, and I don't care that you don't care what I thought of it. ;) Just get out and ride, and keep it real. All the best.

Hanging in the shed there is a Hemlock, a Simple, and two Roadrats - yep, we like Cotics. Paul has been fantastic to deal with (though he still needs to pick up the oven ;) ). the Simple is a delight to ride, rigid - yet comfortable. The Hemlock feels like the Simple but heavy, and with the ability to bludgeon the trail smooth should I pick a bad line or ride something that is above my abilities. I'd like another Simple, and maybe a Soda - but they are wants, we have all the bikes we need. . . . . for now.

I cant rave enough about the Cotics, and the service I received from Paul. Sad to see this happen, but understand why.

See you on the trails Paul.
