I don't understand putting meat on your handlebars, unless it's when you're tea-bagging them. :(

Best way is to lie bike on side, stretch a edge round and then slowly force it on with your body weight... Carbon bars are pretty hard though.

Yeah the carbon seemed to stick to it, at least that should mean they are well stuck down.

I find the best way is to place around six strong zip ties in the grip evenly spaced out with the head facing out. Push the grip against the end of the bar with the zip ties spaced out evenly between the grip and the bar. Push and twist the grip onto the bar until it is fitted where desired. Slowly pull out zip ties with a pair of pliers making sure the head of the zip tie doesn't snap off. So much easier than forcing it on, this is the only way I put grips on.
