Eoi: Singlespeed (retro?) Stumpjumper

Postby rory161192 on Thu 16/Apr/09 7:13pm

Hi,

I may be interested in selling my stumpy. Its a medium, is silver (raw/clear coated) and is one of my favorite hardtails i have ever ridden . Built up steadily over 2 years, it still goes strong.

Frame: 1999 m4 stumpjumper frame, very light, med, no cracks, dents or anything. almost perfect condition.

Fork: could be a talas rlc, or a f32 rl. both in good working order.

Wheels: front disc dmr revolver hub, laced to a black mavic xc717, blue nipples.
Rear is a specialized non disc stout hub, laced to a mavic 223 or something. decent lightweight wheel, rim is fairly straight, but the hub could do with a new freewheel. Just i isnt very positive, a bit loose and i dont have the tools to get in there. works fine though.

Cranks: bontrager race lite, isis, 175mm, great condition. spin on a sealed truvativ gigapipe bb.

Seatpost: thomson, 400mm, 30.9
Seat: WTB rocket V, the best one with carbon bits.
Stem: Titec RIP, 90mm, 31.8
Bar: easton ea50 31.8
Headset: Raceface deus.
Rear brake: Standard acecra, on a generic lever. has worked flawlessly for 2 years, great little system, i cant fault it.
Front brake: Hayes 9 carbon. avid 160mm rotor
Tyres: bit of a choice here, il tell you what i have.

Geared 32-15, would suit someone under 6ft. I cant tell you how much i have enjoyed this bike, it has the finest geometry, just perfect for the forrest.

* would be interested in a swap for a road bike, or a swap plus cash or whatever. if you have anything like that then let us know.*

Nothing retro about a 99 Stumpy. I have one myself as my race bike. An excellent ride. Stumpys are timeless.

I have run mine as SS and it did great in many rides and races.

Looks like a good bike for someone.

You're welcome. Have a think about what you want for it as not having a guide price might put people off asking?

Stumpys ftw!

Hey is the bike still for sale? honestly it's more than I wanted to put in to a SS (wanting to try building one if i can find a nice donor bike) but it's definitely a good set up so I'd have to think about it. Where in auckland are you?
