All this speak of punctures, have you gone retro and are using those old things that used to be around in the 80's, er, inner tubes I think they were called?
Or are you tubeless like all the cool kids? LMGTFY http://road.cc/content/buyers-guide/182 ... ogy-rubber

Here's a near new Gatorskin I had on my Singlespeed roadie.
On a group ride it suddenly split :(

Good thing I had my tyre liner to save the tube at least.

I've used other Gatorskins that I've got thousands of kms out of so hopefully this one was a one off.

On the bike I do the most kms on I've got some Schwalbe Duranos and tyre liners - no puntures and incredibly unlikely to....ever :D

Philthy wrote:Gatorskins are pretty good. Recently had a good run with Schwalbe Marathon plus 700x25. Pretty bombproof but heavy. Wouldn't trust it on the front, hard compound good for durability but not very grippy.
Back in the day I found CST Flat Fighters to be good value.

I've been running Schwalbe Marathons on my commuter bike for about 5-6 years now, not a single puncture yet. Back tyre is getting fairly worn now. Average about 100 kms a week or so, although that depends on my shifts. They're heavy and slow to ride on, but with the amount of glass I ride through so worth it

In the dry I found the gatorskins to be good, but would puncture frequently in the wet, changed to schwalbe marathons which have been much better, maybe one puncture on the marathons
