Yip I found that, but the one I felt was about 10.40, was on the phone at the time and the other person felt it too. Certainly feel for all the people affected, out of work/home etc. yet buzzed by the sheer destructive forces of nature at the same time.

yeh, they take about 20 mins to log them up on the geonet website. The more recent one is up there now.

the individual drums and aggregate drum plots are much more realtime - typically <5mins behind

I think the delay on the 'recent quake' listing is the time it takes to to process all the data from the different stations and generate a 'fix' on the epicentre?

yeah, i've been pretty much streaming the MQZ drum. last half hour's been nice and quiet... :) :)
:edit: cept for that blip about 13 minutes ago, which i barely felt...

those three over night were scary. and every little rumble of wind or plane or truck i heard i thought was another big quake approaching.

and now i'm at work, 5 storeys up, with a cm gap between window and pillar. not looking forward to a 5.4 one up here...

Hardly any aftershocks all day then the sun goes down and BOOM!
The cat has become pretty blasé about the aftershocks but that one got her scarpering
