Hey all just to lets you guys know I'm on the prow for anyone that can help get me into a downhill wheelchair (chariot) I'm super keen to keep riding, just want to get out there again with my mates. Any info help would be much appreciated. I've got a couple of mates that are looking into it, we pretty much need technical advice and funding to make it happen. Sponsors are most welcome . Yeah looks like I'm in a wheelchair for good - unless some miracle makes me walk again. I've been given a two year 'chance' period. I would like to think I will cause I miss riding my bike soooo much!! I'm also being realistic about it i.e accepting I may never walk again.

There is a company in the USA that makes DH wheelchairs, I'll see if I can dig them up again, I stumbled on them not long ago while looking for something else.

are you after something like on the fat tyre fury dvds?

Actually Melrose Kiwi Concept Chairs In CHCH might be worth getting in touch with, they are the same people who do Melrose Motorsports buggies and quads and stuff.

possibly a bit of a longshot, but you should get in touch with Santa Cruz bikes in USA. One of their designers broke his back a while ago, and they apparently built him this awesome chariot with 10" of travel at each corner (as well as completely retrofitting the factory and HQ so he could get around it and keep working there).

Can't remember his name but there was an awesome article in one of the US bike mags a few months ago.

Even if they can't hook you up, they may be prepared to give you some techie info.
