That's a LOT different to a 70s Tour bike - the work to restore it would never bring it up to any level above the cheap family bike it was when new. If you want a runner it would be an easy fix, but restoration costs lots of money and time and is really only worthwhile if it was a decent bicycle in the first place.

You did the right thing, and another okay one will come along for you. :thumbsup:

on the upside, i've found a half decent looking single speed that ive got my eye on, and its local which is a bonus!
