I've riden the long course fixed, Pukete doesn't have any huge decents or major up hills for that matter. Dents what ever you could ride Diamond Back, Creek and Tahi on you'll be fine with at Pukete.
Then again if it rains heaps take a small gear just incase the ground gets really soggy fast there.

Updates: Prize categories added.

Training day went ok, small turnout but good to get a handle on the track. Got to see some very nice cyclocross bling too, that will hopefully be around on the 30th.

Definitely a lot of mud about  should make things interesting come race day. Found out the hard way that underpowered two wheeled cars don't handle the mud as well as cyclocross bikes  Thanks to the two riders for the push! :D Could have been a long afternoon otherwise.

Entry forms still coming in which is good to see. Race plates are at the printers. Trophies are being made. Just got to buy some barriers and we're pretty much right.

I'll be there watching and taking photos no racing for me.
Wyatt where would be be a good spot?
Power wasn't the problem the tires and lack of 4wd was.

Detailed long range forecast for the day please.
I am specifically interested in the barometric reading and humidity so I can start doing the research on tyre pressures.

Probably not far from where I got stuck, you'll be able to watch the hurt as riders take on the main running section. And then you can wander over to watch for possibility of carnage on the small descent. The usual start area will also have the obstacles set up in it, which after 4 or so laps may get a bit tricky.

Thanks again for the push

Looking out my window and squinting into the future I'm thinking we could be looking at a reading of 998 hPa and 87% humidity. I'd be running 22psi front and 25psi rear in the aged Dugast tubulars

Is there any scrutinising on the bikes? Are missing spokes and practically decorative brakes ok? I'll be there if I'm in town.

No problem. :) Although, my pushing was ineffective.

I might not be racing either. I don't think I can work it in around the kids (and I don't think I'm ready for that much pain and suffering). :paranoid: We'll see. But I hope to make it out there to spectate at least - and snap some photos.

Call in for coffee and leave from here?
I'm going to either walk down or ride with the trailer to take Chris along he's interested in bikes already

Could do, but time will be limited, as always. And I'll probably have Ella with me... not sure about Oliver. Will wait and see what the weather does and whether or not I'm racing. :)
