If I was to build up an cyclocross bike as an SS, what ratio should I run?

Guess it depends on the course?

I ran a 39x16t yesterday though probably would have been more and comfortable (and no slower) on a 17t... If wet probably even an 18t

Yeah I was surprised to see the guy rocking such expensive (and fragile) looking wheels, not to mention the Sram Red groupset. The Chris King and stuff, well that I could understand.

I have seen lightweights and Cosmic Carbone Ultimates used in cross in the states and europe, just wasn't expecting to see any carbon wheels in cross here in NZ

That Roadrat above was the winning bike. Simple and solid. It was nice seeing the bling though, plenty of it, just shows the owners love their bikes, and dont necessarily do it to shave those extra few precious seconds off each lap. I did think the pace was pretty hot, all the same.

Plenty of options, Conti twisters, Kenda SB8's to name a few. Maxxis have an option. The twisters come in 32mm width or 37mm. Big is good.
