Cycle Action Tauranga.

I'm on the mailing list for Cycle action Tauranga,
This is the latest update if anyone is interested.

Dear CAT members

We are pleased to advise that membership of Cycle Action Tauranga is now free. This is expected to generate increased membership of CAT, raising CAT’s profile to lobby for further improvements in cycling conditions in Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty.

Please forward this email on to your friends and invite them to join up to CAT. They can email us on secretary@cycletauranga.org.nz or phone Philip Browne on 544 3123.

Members are encouraged to sign up to New Zealand’s national voice for cyclists, Cycling Advocates Network (CAN). CAT is affiliated to, and acts as a 'local branch' of CAN. There are similar local CAN-affiliated groups throughout New Zealand. CAN produces a regular email newsletter ‘eCAN’ and a bi-monthly newsletter 'Chainlinks', which all CAT members also receive. Further information and subscription rates are available on http://can.org.nz/. CAT receives a portion of CAN subscriptions, which assists with ongoing expenses.

Enjoy your cycling.

Got another update:

Dated 24 october:

Bruce Galloway will be guiding an MTB ride around various Tauranga reserves on Wednesday 29th October. The ride will be on road between reserves and off road for the balance, assisting riders to identify new recreational and commuter routes. The ride commences at 6:00pm from the carpark behind the council/library and will be around 1.5 hours long, returning to town before dark. It is suitable for all riders from intermediate school age up.

Cheers

Just got forwarded this from cycle action Tauranga:

Good Friday ride
Cycle Action Tauranga has traditionally held a Good Friday Ride at 9am – meet at the Edgewater Fan. Cyclists ride as a group from there, over the Harbour Bridge to Pilot Bay and return.
The ride is in memory of all the cyclists who have been killed or injured on the road in this area. The formation ride is also a reminder to motorists that cyclists are on the road so share with care. Cyclists of all abilities are welcome.
