Cows On Trails

Postby slackadave on Tue 23/Jul/13 10:14pm

Any body got any ideas of how to deter cattle from mtb trails in a pine forest setting? The love single track just about as much as we do!

Mmm steak...

If you eats them they wont bother your trails any more.

Cows and trails are not at all a good mix. They wreck trails real quick.

I grew up on a farm and it always amused me how the cows 'carved' out their own single track around hillsides

I suspect the only thing you can do is keep em out.
Do they belong on that piece of land or are they getting through knackered fences or some other way?
try talking to the owner as it is his/her responsibility . . . buy it is difficult to enforce if they are belligerent.
Not pigs at all is it? - they're easy >> roast pork

Cheers for the replies - love the bike chainsaw combo.

We have a shared access agreement with the farmer and generally if there is enough feed around they keep off the trails but they love fresh piles of dirt!

This is the solution to the trail entrance so far:

Ahahahahahha, he is making a joke because "cow" is a derogatory term for women! I get it, congratulations on the fine display of wit!

I find it comforting the way they surround me looking concerned when I crash and can't get up.
