There's a notice on the NMTBC website saying that the Dunn Trail is shut from Tantragee to Four corners. Any backup plans James?

Dunn Mountain Trail
Please be advised that effective immediately, the Dunn Trail from Tantragee Rd to Four corners intersection is closed at all times due to the logging operation moving down the slope.
This closure will remain in place through to December 23rd, with the trail open over the holiday break between Dec 23rd and Jan 5th, when it will be closed until further notice while all that pine stand is removed.
Riders can still access Fringed Hill, but only via the 'Classic'. Please pay attention to all signage, danger tape and warnings up there, and don't enter this area while it is closed.

We have been in contact with the land owner and have an access agreement. We do not anticipate any issues with using the lower section of the rail trail on race day .

Rode Epic loop on Sunday and the digger has made incredible progress. Now one hell of a descent from 800m at Coppermine saddle, didn't get off the bike once ! The track is fast and flowing, definitely more smiles less pain . He is 3/4 the way down in distance. From here he has to deviate East, add some track + a few nice switch backs. Took a 1st timer round with me on Sunday and he couldn't believe the variety of terrain over one race course, blown away, not to mention the views. Enduro riders can certainly feel more confident about getting round the loop now, and epic riders will have to dial in the speed and watch out for those loose rocks .

So did you ride up dun track? I was up there today and saw the closed signs (yet another nelson track closure:-( ) Could you still ride up the bottom part of the classic from brook street to the crossroads and hang a right onto the dun track from there? Thanks for any info

See my post above. You can bike up classic to four corners any day of week.

The Coppermine team did a ride of the course yesterday. The track is in the best condition it has ever been in. BDR is dry and lots of grip and the trail is riding very well. The track upgrades from Windy point to Coppermine saddle is outstanding and is riding very fast so you even have time to admire the view. The old carry section through the manuka scrub is now a vary fast flowing single track. The section down Boulder valley is outstanding and very fast. Track upgrades are a few weeks away from being completed.

If you have ever thought of doing the Coppermine this is the year to do it as i dont think the track will be in this fast again.

If you want to have a ride of the course before race day, with the lower section of the rail trail closed for logging you can either ride up the classic from Brook street to get to the rail trail for the Enduro course or if you want to do the Epic the Fringe road is open weekends or if your keen ride the classic from the bottom.

For race day we have discussed access with the Forestry land owner and will have a way of getting onto the lower rail trail
