That's quality entertainment. :D

This reminds me of the guides to "comfort" issued with keyboards at one stage of the RSI epidemic.

Trek also lied about it on their Facebook page, claiming it was the crank manufs.
Then they said on FB that any kind of pedals are OK
Then they deleted the whole post from Facebook.

Lying, misquoting the law then going into hiding when challenged is not an accident.
Sounds like they discovered some liability that either the legal or the marketing depts insist must not be talked about.

Legal dept might be worried about creating liability for previous unstickered bikes if they reveal their concern. That sort of thing is pretty common.

Marketing may be worried about any number of things. We should pause to give thanks to those people for the amount of deep thought they put into satisfying our needs.

The interesting thing is that the flat pedal manufacturers won't speak out about a direct attack on their business. Are they scared of Trek, or scared of losing a shitfight and ending up perceived as unsafe by the public?

It is less surprising that Pinkbike won't run this eminently LOLable story about one of their advertisers. :(

Richard Cunningham, the Technical Editor for Pinkbike - is that the same Richard Cunningham that always let the advertising dollar dictate his opinions at MBActiondvertising?
