How often do you fang into a downhill and realise you've forgotten to release your lock out

Almost never, because climbing with your forks locked out is dumb.

True, I only use the lockout on the road - offroad I just reduce the travel with my TALAS and roll it plush.

That was my other thought - I almost never use my lockout off road.

The only time I used my lockout in the Cape Epic was in the last 15km when my forks were clunking. The 760-odd-km before that included heaps of road.

Not being good Hill climber I wouldn't really know...
but on my SS I found climbing fire roads and smooth ish single track climbs etc easier with the forks locked out but then I do stand and stomp :paranoid:

Another comment I found interesting was from a Multi Time Hill Climb Champ was he reckoned locking his forks out on short pinches often was better than shifting gear

Each to there own I guess

Back on the orginal topic I read the other day Jess Douglas (current world 24hr solo Champ) sent her Teralogics away to be changed to RLC's

Unfortunately, this is what it comes down to - no matter how wrong everyone else is, personal preference rules. :p

I suppose an ideal setup might depend a little on the type of riding/bike/terrain/etc too - if you ride a SS I can understand why a lockout would be essential for stomping up fire roads. Also, what the harry-hardout racer boys do bears little resemblance to what the other 99% of us out and about on the trails want or need.

Don't you accuse me of being the 1%!

I don't reckon - I don't do any more racing than the average weekend warrior, I have no sponsors (thus no obligations/commitments/wares to peddle), I don't train (and think HRMs and Powertaps are for communists), and I never win anything (I'm no Buysman)

na i've already looked into the 2013 fox forks and quite frankly i couldn't think of any worse. that remote looks like it would shatter into a million pieces just from looking at it too hard.
